Friday 09th October, I had the pleasure of shooting for Pop Models Milano working with Lily Flynn & Francesca on a mini editorial. The main plan was to capture some simplistic lifestyle shots with interesting natural light. I shot with my Pentax K1000 using Kodak Portra 400. The shoot was compressed into an hour and a half as I had a train to catch for Florence early afternoon.
Considering the time constraints we were able to capture some really nice shots and the girls were extremely easy to work with. The entire editorial was shot in district of Lombardi in Milan.
Thursday 08th October, I worked for Boom Models Milan in order to test with Dani F and Federico. The idea was to capture some simple lifestyle shots with natural light and amongst the editorial format capture some portraits.
Thankfully the weather was on point and I was spoilt for choice on locations to capture portraits with the guys. I shot with Fuji Neopan and Kodak Portra 400. Overall i'm satisfied with the results, the only downside to testing in a city you're unfamiliar with is that you can't plan as effectively as you would do in a place you know everything about. So i'm certain next time I venture to Milan i'll have a far better idea of the locations I would shoot at and the way I would style a project such as this.
In reflection upon the past year I'm very aware that styling and putting more focus on the overall aesthetic is something I need to work on going forward.
